supporting Labour Market Attachment of vulnerable people ………

Since 1999, OARS training, Inc. has operated as a human resource consulting firm specializing in training and development. OARS has designed and implemented workforce development strategies for corporate clients, non-profit agencies and government sponsors. Until May, 2007 OARS was a Manitoba based company but has completed a transition to a new location – Nanoose Bay, British Columbia. Along with the location change has come a renewed vision for OARS focusing on projects and research relating to Aboriginal people, new immigrants and the segment of the workforce that has come to be known as the ‘discouraged worker’. These are the vulnerable people in today’s workforce and programs and services aimed at strengthening their attachment to the world of work are the mission of OARS training.

Personal attachment to the labour market equates to an individual’s ability to contribute to his or her own life, family and community. OARS has accumulated a broad repertoire of products and research addressing the barriers to workforce participation as well as workable solutions and strategies that can be utilized by a diverse audience including business people, the non-profit sector and policy makers. Samples of several of these products are available on this site for those who want to download them and use them to develop their own process for employment attachment within their group, business or community.

OARS also provides customized services and products in the areas of research, cultural diversity and workforce training and development. Please take a moment to review what we do and contact us to discuss how we might best work with your organization to address worker attachment.
