Louise Nicol, OARS Training Inc. HR consulting firm President and owner

Louise Nichol founded OARS Training Inc. in 1999 as a consulting firm specializing in labour force training and development. Over a ten year period OARS designed and implemented quality training systems for a varied list of clients ranging from the corporate sector, government agencies and labour unions to a variety of diverse communities. The OARS approach incorporates the shop floor reality with the most current human resource theories. In ten years of operation Louise managed teams of consultants, completing more than one hundred projects.

In addition to her work with OARS, Louise has a background facilitating and Teaching in the fields of Trades and Technology, Human Resources and Management. In 2007 Louise completed a Masters in Leadership and Training at Royal Roads University BC, with a thesis topic focussed on labour market attachment issues affecting First Nation, Inuit and Metis people. In 2008 & 2009 Louise completed the Canadian Human Resource Professional designation, CHRP and began a doctoral degree in Human and Organizational Systems at Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara California. The dissertation focus will explore, “the way we employ people in Canada”.

Louise is a recognized expert in the areas of Workplace Essential Skills and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition. She has produced and delivered workshops and training curricula on these topics for a diverse range of clients.
